We design all Tiles to run a full year with zero upkeep. The Tile Mate and Tile Pro have replaceable batteries which last for a year and are easy to replace yourself. And, if you join Tile Premium or Premium Protect, you don’t ever have to worry about buying replacement batteries; we’ll send free battery replacements every year for subscribers in eligible countries.
Tile Slim and Tile Sticker have built-in batteries that last for three years.
Older models with non-replaceable batteries that last one year, such as the original Mate (2016), the original Slim, and Sport and Style, are eligible for reTile discounted replacement after 11 months.
Tiles with non-replaceable, one-year batteries (original Mate, original Slim, Sport and Style) are eligible for replacement at the reTile discounted price 11 months after activation. We’ll send you a friendly reminder in the app and via email to re-order and upgrade to our newest Tile models.
Once you receive your new Tiles, open the Tile app, tap on the Tile you want to replace and follow the instructions to replace it. (For full instructions, check out this Help Center article.) Tiles are 99% recyclable so you can drop off your old Tiles at your local e-waste center.
reTile eligibility is based on the age of your Tiles, the Tile models you have, as well as your recent purchase history. If you are eligible, you can purchase multiple Tiles at the same discounted rate, regardless of the number of Tiles you originally purchased. Once you complete your reTile purchase, you may not be eligible again until a later date, so we encourage you to buy as many Tiles as you think you’ll need at this great rate.
